Bet you did a double take when you first saw these snowdrop cookies! Yes, they’re so lifelike that they easily trick people into thinking they’re the real thing. After studying countless photographs and actual plant specimens, Julia experimented with icing consistency and shaping techniques to make each part as realistic as possible. The leaves and petals were made by contouring flooding-consistency icing. Conversely, the stems used thick icing so they would hold a slender shape. And those bulbs – they’re all edible too. Julia first modeled cookie dough into bulb shapes. Once baked, the cookies were dipped in icing and wrapped with airbrushed wafer paper, and then finished with corn silk “roots”. Wow! For every detail of this project, take a look at Julia’s YouTube video.
