Add verve to your next party with these cookie crackers filled with candies and edible greetings printed on frosting sheets. Julia crafted the cookie tubes in two different ways: the first, by icing together cookie rings (bottom cracker) and, the second, by shaping (aka contouring) the dough into half-cylinders prior to baking (second and third crackers from the bottom). The tubes are pretty enough left plain, but Julia chose to embellish them in various ways, with everything from piped beadwork to needlepoint (red and white cookie to the right) to wraps made of frosting sheets. BTW, these crackers were some of Julia’s first 3-D cookies, made before she started filming YouTube videos, but you can see an iced and stenciled variation of this project in this later video.
