Like the lotus, the marigold is a popular flower in India, believed to have auspicious and protective powers. It is widely cultivated there to make garlands particularly for decorations at weddings, religious events, and festivals. Given the cultural significance of these flowers, Julia just had to recreate them in icing for her course aboard the 2019 “Passage to India”-themed cookie cruise. And here you have those very lifelike results!

Corner Plaque Cookie Cutter

Julia popularized this classic Corner Plaque cutter design by using it in so many of her cookie stencil releases. It’s definitely one of her faves! While it can be oriented any which way relative to the design on the cookie top, she loves it in the “diamond” position (first photo), because it allows the best exposure of her background stencils. This cutter is available in three sizes; the price reflects the smallest 2-inch size. Julia most often uses the 4-inch size.

Genie Plaque Cookie Cutter

Named after Julia’s dear friend Ginny (owner of Genie Products for Better Baking), this cutter was codesigned by the two in 2019 for one of Ginny’s famous cookie cruises. Though originally created to fit the cruise’s theme (Passage to India), this cutter’s ample decorating space and graceful design make it one of Julia’s go-to cutters to this day. In fact, whenever she uses it in one of her stencil releases, her email goes crazy with questions about where to get it. Fortunately, you’re in the right place!

Dimensional Poppy Cookie Tutorial

This 40-minute, never-before-released YouTube tutorial is now available exclusively on Julia’s site. In it, she demonstrates how to make stunningly realistic dimensional poppy cookies using contoured royal icing transfers, each of which is individually airbrushed and then pieced together into a floral masterpiece. While this innovative project might look challenging, it is actually quite straightforward once Julia breaks it down in her typically detailed and methodical way.
