Of course, even the messages in Julia’s sets can be made as fondant appliqués to add interest and depth to cookies. For this cookie, Julia airbrushed and stenciled the bunting in her Birds and Bittersweet Dynamic Duos™ stencil set onto a thinly rolled piece of fondant. After trimming the fondant to the frame edges, she shaped the bunting on the inside of a paper towel tube to give it the slight furl that you see. Once set and dry, this contoured element was fixed to the cookie with a touch of royal icing. And ta-da! What character it adds!
