For this Cookie Connection challenge, the second in that community’s new Watch-Learn-Create series (and our 52nd since we started), I have a special guest, someone you know very well. She comes from Italy, and she has been one of the most active members of Cookie Connection for years: Evelin Milanesi, also known as Evelindecora!
Evelin will be showcasing a technique that she originated in 2016: her signature piped crochet technique, which she’s used to make everything from a wool sweater and cap to roofs on her cookie houses, heart cookies, decorations for cookie macarons, and even watermelon slices! As you can see, this technique is more than another knit technique that’s limited to winter clothing; it is quite versatile and can be used for any season and on almost any cookie shape. Plus, it’s just a great way to practice and gain control over your fine-line piping.
For more Challenge #52 information – including Evelin’s kickoff video demonstration of her crochet technique and the challenge rules, prize (it’s a great one), and schedule – check out the challenge launch post on Cookie Connection. Entries are due on January 7, 2023 (5 pm CDT), which gives you tons of time to create around the upcoming holidays. And while you’re on the site, please peruse the rest of it and consider becoming a member (it’s free!). Just click the “JOIN NOW” button on the Cookie Connection home page and follow the prompts.
UPDATE, January 14, 2023: This challenge has closed, but you can still learn from Evelin’s challenge video by purchasing it in this site’s “Guest Series” section under “TUTORIALS”. You’ll also want to marvel over the entries in the recap post on Cookie Connection!
