These cookies weren’t only part of the wedding festivities; they were the centerpiece! Cookie boxes, ranging from 5 to 1 3/4 inches across, were stacked on other cookies to create these 3-D table toppers. The cookie “cake” plate was stenciled and trimmed with handpiped royal icing lace, and the sides of the foreground cake were covered primarily with handpiped needlepoint. Julia’s book Ultimate Cookies provides detailed instructions about how to miter box seams to create the best of boxes, as well as more info about stenciling and other cookie decorating techniques.
