Here’s another version of Julia’s Christmas wreath cookie platter that appeared in her book Ultimate Cookies. In this rendition, the “holly berries” are mini macarons, and the bow is covered with plaid wafer paper. The cookies are iced together, and the entire arrangement is supported by a large ring-shaped cookie that allows the piece to be suspended as shown here. Of course, you could just lay the cookies flat on a tabletop without any icing “glue”, which is definitely a simpler setup and also allows for easy access to the cookies for eating!
