In June 2022, Julia M. Usher’s Cookie Art Competition™ once again went virtual when That Takes the Cake Show, the usual in-person home to Julia’s competition, canceled due to COVID. Despite the setback for a second year in a row, sponsors rallied, racking up a record-breaking $20,000 in prizes. And entrants were more diverse than ever, harking from countries as far afield as Iran, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, Malaysia, China, Japan, the United States, and more! As in 2021, Julia served as head judge overseeing the judging process of four other world-renowned cookie experts.
