When Julia first heard the news that she was nominated for this very special award, she shed more than a few happy tears in disbelief. According to American Cake Awards (ACA), “this award celebrates someone who is a credit to our [the sugar arts] community for sharing knowledge, being supportive, or just being an all-around great person”. As teaching is one of Julia’s greatest passions, getting this acknowledgement, especially alongside so many of her own superheroes, was a prize in and of itself.
