Julia had the distinct honor to be among the inaugural set of judges for the first-ever American Cake Awards (ACA), founded and hosted by Cake Masters Magazine. The judges were selected because of their “incredible industry experience” (in ACA’s own words) and for their highly regarded skills in particular areas of sugar art. Julia was one of two cookie artists in all of North America to be chosen for this important role. Though judging occurred in 2020, the awards weren’t conferred until 2022 because of COVID-related delays. Julia also had the privilege of announcing the cookie category winner at the 2022 ceremony.
