DESCRIPTION:Overview: As many of you know, Julia was intending to teach these new and very fun 3-D cacti cookie containers at That Takes the Cake Show at the end of February. But, sadly, that show was canceled due to COVID, and so, with it, was her hands-on, in-person class. However, there is a silver lining to this cloud! Julia is now teaching this (somewhat) streamlined version of it online on March 19 and 20, 2022. And early bird registration is now open! If you sign up with code EARLYBIRD before March 5 (5 pm CST), you’ll get 15% off both general admission and VIP tickets.\nAll students will make the large spherical container with cacti and succulents (pictured top left). In addition to the tremendous learning that’s characteristic of all of her classes, Julia also has special sessions planned for VIPs (where they’ll make a second 3-D container) and assorted product discounts and perks for everyone.\nSkill Level: All levels; Julia will tailor her pace and instruction so that even beginning decorators can follow along.\nPrerequisites: No 3-D cookie experience is necessary, though experience and comfort with royal icing is quite helpful.\nWhat You’ll Learn (~11+ Techniques):\n\n\nContoured cookies (cylinders, domes, and contoured rings)\nModeled and contoured cookie pops \nDipping\nBasic painting (to cover bare cookies)\nContoured and regular royal icing transfers\nPrecision-piping\nPiping on contoured surfaces (cacti, succulents, and containers)\nModeling chocolate and fondant wraps and trims\nRubber-stamped fondant appliqués\nAirbrushing and stenciling on fondant (OPTIONAL)\n3-D assembly (spheres and cylinders)\nEdible lace (aka wraps and trims; VIPs ONLY)\n\nOther Notes: Students must supply their own tools and cookies if they want to follow along with Julia. Detailed supply lists, recipes, and class outlines will be sent automatically as soon as you register on Eventbrite, so look for that confirmation email! It will direct you to Julia’s “online event page” on Eventbrite where you’ll find links to all of the info needed for class.
